Thanks to Brian, Shane and Michaela for our first GAA training session this year.
As part of our Blue Star Programme, we took part in some special events today, organised by European Movement Ireland to mark Europe Day on 9th May. We completed our last Kahoot quiz on Institutions of the EU, then watched a live event with Minister Thomas Byrne and An Taoiseach Michéal Martin, brought home some EU resources and finally had an “air handshake” for Europe.
We were amazed by the fantastic ideas our pupils came up with on how to reuse a milk carton. So many different designs and lots of work went into each creation. Hope all who took part enjoyed their treat.
We celebrated St Patrick’s Day with our Lá Glas today. We had some poems, live traditional music and Irish dancing outside in the sun and finished our St Patrick’s Day artwork in class.
Everyone was looking very festive today in their Christmas jumpers. We raised over €500 for The Jack & Jill Foundation and this donation was made in memory of Cian McNamara. Thanks for all your generous donations for this worthy cause.

During Ireland’s first lockdown between March and May of this year, students from across Clare were asked to submit pieces of art work under the theme “My Life at Home”. Tom, Lily and Eve Moloney were among some of the students in Feakle who submitted pieces of art work. In October, art work from students across the county hung proudly in Glór’s art gallery, including the work from Tom, Lily and Eve. Well done to the Moloneys! You can see their art work below:
The 12th-16th of October was Mental Health Week in Feakle NS. Lots of activities were undertaken in all classes. The 100 Random Acts of Kindness Challenge was undertaken by the whole school and a whooping 239 Acts of Kindness were completed by our students! These acts of kindness included saying thank you to the bus driver, feeding the hens, smiling at a friend and so much more. Take a look at some of the wonderful acts of kindness our students completed below. Well done to all our students!
Juniors, Seniors and First class were busy planting daffodils in the school garden this week!
